Get your team in the Game by joining us for Minnesota’s largest competitive and fun team free throw shooting competition. Sixteen team pool play followed by single elimination bracket style play, crowning one team as the 2012 Hoopathon Champion!

Teams of 5 shooters will shoot free throws for 3 minutes (first 4 shooters will shoot for 30 seconds and the final shooter for a minute). Teams will begin with 2 rounds of pool play followed by championship bracket play. Teams will then go head-to-head until a champion is crowned!

The first place team will be awarded prizes and a trophy. Prizes will also be awarded to the team with the most money raised and the team with the most creative uniforms.

Additional Activities Include:

Silent auction and raffle

Teams

Friends/Teammates/Family Team $125 ($25 per person). Includes: 1 team in competition, 5 Tshirts, food, refreshments.

Example: Get five of your friends together and come have some fun shooting some free

throws

Corporate Sponsor Team $250 ($50 per person). Includes: 1 team in competition, 5 Tshirts, food, refreshments, company logo on the team page.

Example: Get your boss or your company’s community foundation to sponsor

your team and get five co-works/friends to form a team.

$250 Team Registration: includes t-shirts, gift bag and unlimited food and beverage for all five team members.

Teams are encouraged to raise funds for HD. The team that raises the most money before the day of the event will be rewarded with a great prize!

Free Throw Contest

Compete in Minnesota’s largest individual free throw competition in support of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Make as many rapid-fire free throws as you can in 3 minutes. Prizes and awards will be given to the top three shooters in each category:

12 & under, male and female
13-18, male and female
19-30, male and female
31+, male and female

All participants are encouraged to raise funds for the cause. Challenge yourself to hit one of these fund-raising goals and get great rewards!

$30 – T-Shirt & Gift Bag
$150 – T-Shirt, Gift Bag & 2 Twins Tickets
$500 – T-Shirt, Gift Bag, 2 Twins Tickets & $25 Gift Certificate to Restaurant.com

Top 2 Individual Fundraisers: BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet or HTC Flyer Tablet

Check in and registration is at 1:30pm and the individual shooting competition is from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

For those who wish not to participate in the shooting competition, come out and cheer on all of the shooters and enjoy the entertainment.

Crunch and the Timberwolves Hoop Troop Dunk Team will perform from 4:15-4:45pm!

This year’s Twin Cities Hoopathon will take place at the U of M Fieldhouse, 1800 University Avenue SE, Minneapolis. Click the address link or see below for a map. Entry to the Fieldhouse will be on the University Ave side of the building – look for Hoopathon signs.

After Party

Join us for the first annual “Knockin’ Out HD” Hoopathon After-Party, August 20th, 2011 from 7 pm to 1 am in Northeast Minneapolis at the world famous Uppercut Boxing Gym. Whether you can’t make the shooting events or want to celebrate your free throw skills, come join us for a night of fun, entertainment, and drinks for a good cause.

Admission includes all drinks, food, and entertainment. Tickets will be available at the Hoopathon or you can buy them online for a $25 donation. Tickets will also be available at the door for a $30 donation. Tickets will sell out so we highly reccomend getting your ticket online today. Once you are in the door; drinks, food and entertainment are on us! Raffles will take place every 30 minutes and tickets will be $1 so make sure to bring some extra cash to win some great prizes!! (raffle prizes will be posted soon)

This event is 21+ after 9pm and IDs will be checked at the door.

Volunteers are needed as well! Contact us to sign up as a volunteer.

2011 Hoopathon was a Success!

Thank you to all who were able participate, volunteer or make a donation to this years event. With the combination of all of our efforts the 2011 Twin Cities Hoopathon was another success bringing in around $50,000 to benefit the Huntington’s Disease Society of America Minnesota Chapter. Donations are still coming through the door and if you never had a chance, donations are ALWAYS still welcome. We were very happy with the change of the event moving to University of Minnesota along with the additions of the Team Competition and After Party. We hope you continue to stay in touch and will join our email list to be updated about the 2012 event.
